WHITE HURRICANE SHIPWRECK TOUR
Depart by shuttle from Mackinaw City or from the NOAA Maritime Sanctuary for an exciting day tour. The tour will take you to multiple shallow water shipwreck sites along Michigan's Northeast coastline. Paddle over shipwrecks in the shallow bay waters and you can leave your expensive camera or iphones behind! We will take the photos and email them to you for a small add-on charge.
Our shipwreck day tour for 2013, The White Hurricane tour, commemorates the great storm of 1913, which took the lives of 235 sailors and sank 12 vessels on the Great Lakes. Our guides will tell you the story as you paddle to the wreck and see the shipwreck in the clear water. Enjoy learning about the history, the ships and the incident that caused the ship to wreck. Your adventure also includes snorkeling, kayaking in tandem inflatable (and safe) glass bottom kayaks, transportation, interpretive guide, refreshments and a gourmet box lunch! What a great way to enjoy your first shipwreck!

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
WHAT TO WEAR - WHAT TO BRING - CONDITIONS

Our regularly scheduled shipwreck tours depart from downtown Mackinaw City. All tours are scheduled weather permitting, and if wind or extreme weather conditions are too severe, tours may be cancelled and rain checks can be provided for a tour at a later time or day when tours are restarted.
Tour customers are encouraged to wear shorts or below the knee length pants. River shoes, Crocs, water sandals or bare feet are recommended for the tour. Make sure that you have plenty of sunscreen and it is always best to wear polarized sunglasses. It is important to understand that the weather conditions may make the viewing a bit more challenging since waves and wind can cause your kayak to drift and you will need to position your craft to stay over the wreck for the best viewing. If conditions are to extreme for a pleasant experience, we will not operate the tour and will allow you to book at another time that works for you.
We are not responsible for lost or damaged electronics, clothing or gear during the tour. Pictures and videotaping are fine, and we recommend keeping your expensive electronics at home. Instead, take advantage of our add-on picture or video packages for a reasonable charge. We will take the pictures and send you the pictures from your adventure by email. Awesome! You will have 20-25 great pics of your adventure and you won't have to worry about losing or ruining your camera or smart phone! Well worth the cost, and we have high definition cameras and underwater shots.
Make sure you bring a set of dry clothes since you will be wanting to swim and snorkel, and a towel to swab up the drops of water that will sneak in even when these precautions are taken. We want you to enjoy your tour, so we recommend that you attach your electronic devices to yourself by a strap if you must bring them along.
We are confident that your tour will be something to remember, and we do our best to make sure that it is a good memory!
